As of Dec. 31, the health department administered 7,362 flu shots in Kanawha County schools this season, and 14,622 flu vaccines in all.
Lolita Kirk, director of administrative services, said the health department has made $70,000 profit from the flu shot clinics, about $30,000 more than it made last flu season. Kirk said much of the profit increases came from making the vaccination program more efficient.
