Pets/Animals: Scientific studies conclude GMO feed causes organ disruption in animals

images images-7 images-9   images-3 images-6images-5A new paper eviewing data from 19 animal studies shows that consuming genetically modified (GM) corn or soybeans leads to significant organ disruptions in rats and mice, particularly in livers and kidneys.  See review by Mike Adams…

Study abstract (open access)  We reviewed 19 studies of mammals fed with commercialized genetically modified soybean and maize which represent, per trait and plant, more than 80% of all environmental genetically modified organisms (GMOs) cultivated on a large scale, after they were modified to tolerate or produce a pesticide. We have also obtained the raw data of 90-day-long rat tests following court actions or official requests. The data obtained include biochemical blood and urine parameters of mammals eating GMOs with numerous organ weights and histopathology findings.

COMMENT BY VLA EDITOR:  If the animals for human consumption are fed organ disruptive foods and you in turn eat organ disruptive foods or you in turn feed cloned Confined Animal Feeding Operations (CAFO) livestock ,GMO grains and pesticidedvegetables found all conventional pet food it is a no wonder those who do this may need not only human health insurance but Pet insurance to mitigate the cost of chronic illnesses.  But health insurance to cover the financial cost does not mitigate the emotional pain of sick and dying loved ones.  Care for yourself – eat organic foods and consider what you are feeding your little guys.  See www.RawPrey.com for information on Organic Raw Food diets for pets.

Baby Boy, the Cat Who Conquered Urinary Tract, Heart, Thyroid and Kidney Disease

BabyBoy1Excerpt: I’ll never forget Scott explaining those options to me. One was to remove part of the thyroid. Another was to prescribe a drug that may have side effects. The third option was radioactive iodine treatment, which would involve leaving Baby Boy quarantined in a treatment room for a week to 10 days until he was no longer radioactive and could go home. To Scott, none of those solutions sounded very safe for his cat.

Dr. Becker “I explained to Scott that there was no reason not to try non-toxic options first, before jumping into more traditional (and scarier) treatments. He agreed, and we decided to try homeopathy to treat Baby Boy’s thyroid problem”   Read more…

Flu Vaccine for your pet: MORE Insanity from MERCK-big business-making animals sick

00_homeFrom Merck…Canine influenza (Dog Flu) is an important illness that poses an emerging threat to all dogs.  Nobivac® Canine Flu H3N8 vaccine:

Contains gentamicin and amphotericin B as preservatives.

1) Gentamicin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic, used to treat many types of bacterial infections, particularly those caused by Gram-negative organisms. Gentamicin is also ototoxic and nephrotoxic, with this toxicity remaining a major problem in clinical use.[1]

2) Amphotericin B is a polyene antifungal drug.   Amphotericin B is well known for its severe and potentially lethal side-effects

2) The Adjuvant  used inH3N8 vaccine is Aluminum based.

Comment by VLA editor:  Why doesn’t this canine flu shot have mercury like human flu shots?  Are anti biotics and antifungals really preservatives? This strain is said to have been transferred from horses to dogs…wonder how that happened?  I remember the strange deaths of a group of grey hounds.  Sounded to me at the time..that they all must have been victims of some experiment.  Will we ever find out?

And here is the spin from the CDC:  How long has canine influenza been around? The H3N8 equine influenza virus has been known to exist in horses for more than 40 years. In 2004, however, cases of an unknown respiratory illness in dogs (initially greyhounds) were reported. An investigation showed that this respiratory illness was caused by the equine influenza A H3N8 virus. Scientists believe that this virus jumped species (from horses to dogs) (Comment:  And how did that happen in the greyhound dog stable)and has now adapted to cause illness in dogs and spread efficiently among dogs. This is now considered a new dog-specific lineage of H3N8. In September of 2005, this virus was identified by experts as “a newly emerging pathogen in the dog population” in the United States.

Royal Friesian Horses

“Friesian Horses”
I was unaware of this breed. Their manes and tails are the longest that I have seen, and I noticed that when performing on grass, their hoofs do not kick up a divot (they land flat footed).
Beautiful creatures such as these are what makes this world so special. Another wonder to God’s creation! These horses are native to the Netherlands …. It should make your day..

Dr. Becker: Animal vaccines cause immune-mediated diseases

It’s the opinion of most holistic veterinarians that the vast majority of immune-mediated diseases, including IMT, are triggered or exacerbated by vaccines, particularly bactrins (vaccines against bacterial organisms, such as the leptospirosis and lyme vaccines), as well as killed vaccines (rabies vaccine).  However, note in the article that the establishment denies a vaccine-link with junk studies just like they do in the human population.  Read more…

Dr. Becker: Raw Pet Food (sterile high pressure raw food vs. natural raw)

Depending on the amount of pressure used, research has demonstrated that proteins do denature, and beneficial good bacteria are obliterated during HPP processing. For these reasons, some raw feeders don’t feel pet food companies selling HPP-treated diets should be allowed to call them “raw.”

However, there are animals who can benefit from sterile (HPP processed) raw food. These include some pets undergoing chemotherapy. Dogs and cats with significantly compromised immune systems should not be exposed to potential pathogens from any source, including food.
Raw food that has undergone HPP provides these pets with a convenient source of a better-quality food that is also sterile, which is important in reducing the risk to debilitated bodies.
Dr. Becker’s recommendation: If your pet is a healthy, thriving dog or cat, then a completely fresh unadulterated raw diet is what I would recommend. There are tremendous nutritional benefits derived from eating non-sterile foods. Read more…
