Guatemala: People deliberately infected with STDs sue Johns Hopkins University

Nearly 800 plaintiffs have launched a billion-dollar lawsuit against Johns Hopkins University over its alleged role in the deliberate infection of hundreds of vulnerable Guatemalans with sexually transmitted diseases, including syphilis and gonorrhoea, during a medical experiment programme in the 1940s and 1950s.

The lawsuit, which also names the philanthropic Rockefeller Foundation, alleges that both institutions helped “design, support, encourage and finance” the experiments by employing scientists and physicians involved in the tests, which were designed to ascertain if penicillin could prevent the diseases. Orphans, prisoners and mental health patients were deliberately infected in the experiments.

During the experiments, the following occurred:

    1. Prostitutes were infected with venereal disease and then provided for sex to subjects for intentional transmission of the disease;
    2. Subjects were inoculated by injection of syphilis spirochaetes into the spinal fluid that bathes the brain and spinal cord, under the skin, and on mucous membranes;
    3. An emulsion containing syphilis or gonorrhoea was spread under the foreskin of the penis in male subjects;
    4. The penis of male subjects was scraped and scarified and then coated with the emulsion containing syphilis or gonorrhea;
    5. A woman from the psychiatric hospital was injected with syphilis, developed skin lesions and wasting, and then had gonorrhoeal pus from a male subject injected into both of her eyes and;
    6. Children were subjected to blood studies to check for the presence of venereal disease.

A federal lawsuit for damages under the Federal Tort Claims Act failed in 2012 after a judge determined the US government cannot be held liable for actions outside the US.

The polio vaccination certificate is valid between 4 weeks and 12 months after the date of vaccination. The ending date for a valid vaccination recorded on the ICVP is 1 calendar day before the calendar day on which the vaccine was given. For example, a vaccination given on 16 June 2014 will be valid between 14 July 2014 and 15 June 2015.

Adults, who are traveling to areas where there has been WPV circulation in the last 12 months and who are unvaccinated, incompletely vaccinated, or whose vaccination status is unknown should receive a series of 3 doses: 2 doses of IPV administered at an interval of 4–8 weeks; a third dose should be administered 6–12 months after the second. If 3 doses of IPV cannot be administered within the recommended intervals before protection is needed, the following alternatives are recommended:

  • If >8 weeks are available before protection is needed, 3 doses of IPV should be administered ≥4 weeks apart.
  • If <8 weeks but >4 weeks are available before protection is needed, 2 doses of IPV should be administered ≥4 weeks apart.
  • If <4 weeks are available before protection is needed, a single dose of IPV is recommended.

If <3 doses are administered, the remaining IPV doses to complete a 3-dose series should be administered when feasible, at appropriate intervals, if the person remains at increased risk for poliovirus exposure. If doses are needed while residing in the affected country, the polio vaccine that is available (IPV or OPV) may be administered.

Adults who have completed a routine series of polio vaccine are considered to have lifelong immunity to poliovirus, but data are lacking (12). As a precaution, persons aged ≥18 years who are traveling to areas where there has been WPV circulation in the last 12 months and who have received a routine series with either IPV or OPV in childhood.  Read more…

47,500 Paralysis cases from Polio Vaccine in India: Indian Journal of Medical Ethics

 “… while India has been polio-free for a year, there has been a huge increase in non-polio acute flaccid paralysis (NPAFP). Clinically indistinguishable from polio paralysis but twice as deadly, the incidence of NPAFP was directly proportional to doses of oral polio received”.

VLA Comment:  Apparently there is an association with children having gotten the polio vaccine in US as well as India with flaccid paralysis (polio symptoms renamed).  Why would India, for example, not be on the list of concern?  Is it because the polio vaccine itself caused the flacid paralysis (polio).

The 2015 Adult Immunization Schedule (click here to see it clearly and download) was approved by the Centers for DiseaseControl and Prevention’s (CDC) Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices(ACIP), American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), the American College ofPhysicians (ACP), the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM). On February 3, 2015, the adult immunization schedule and a summary of changes from 2014 were published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, and a summary of changes was published in the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR)on February 5, 2015.

TRACKING ADULTS:

NVAC has authored the National Adult Immunization Plan (NAIP) and, once finalized, the plan will be turned over to the Interagency Adult Immunization Task Force (AIFT) to create an implementation plan. Notably, this task force is composed of “vested interest” stakeholders and no consumer representation for those groups concerned with vaccine safety and informed consent


The adult immunization plan also “incentivizes” doctors and other vaccine providers to convert patient data into Electronic Health Record (EHR) formats that can then be shared across state and federal electronic databases to track national vaccine coverage rates and also track and identify who is and is not vaccinated. Many states already have electronic vaccine tracking registries (Immunization Information Systems – IIS) in place, but do not share this information due to laws preventing the sharing of personal medical information and/or limited vaccination data on adults. This is where financial and other types of incentives come in to convince vaccine providers and state legislators to participate in the gathering of this private medical information on all adults.

Designer immune systems on the horizon?

Although scientists and bioethicists claim that IGT is no different than existing gene therapies and is therefore not ethically problematic, they admit that the public may see things differently. The prospect of having one’s DNA modified to fight a disease may not be easily accepted.

As with all gene therapies, IGT also raises concerns about the ethical implications of gene therapies designed to “improve” or “enhance” human beings rather than simply treat medical conditions. Conferring disease immunity arguably straddles the line between these approaches. VLA Comment:  VACCINE POLICY IS HARMFUL TO THE POPULATION:

Getting this infectious disease “naturally” (as listed in the studies below) apparently prevents the disease.   Clearly the above protocol  (creating a genetically engineered virus strain) was advanced by researchers because they realized that “naturally gained” wild viruses protect against cancer.  Hence, they thought, lets genetically engineer the virus in our labs to cure cancer that people are getting because vaccination does not impart the same complex protective quality as in nature. And besides we can patent it and make money on the vaccines, then make money on the disease it provokes and then make money on an artificial cure to an artificial vaccine.

Editor:  So why don’t we get the natural diseases, like before we had the cancer epidemic that is the leading cause of death for children,  and prevent cancer in the first place?  The money make’s purpose is to design expensive pharmacuetical lab made genetic viruses that mimick natural virus in order to fix the cancer that we got by being artificially stimulating our immune system by be vaccinated.

MEASLES:  Albonico et al found that adults are significantly protected against non-breast cancers — genital, prostate, gastrointestinal, skin, lung, ear-nose-throat, and others — if they contracted measles (odds ratio, OR = 0.45), rubella (OR = 0.38) or chickenpox (OR = 0.62) earlier in life. [Med Hypotheses 1998; 51(4): 315-20].

MEASLES: Montella et al found that contracting measles in childhood reduces the risk of developing lymphatic cancer in adulthood [Leuk Res 2006; 30(8): 917-22].

MEASLES: Alexander et al found that infection with measles during childhood is significantly protective — it cuts the risk in half — against developing Hodgkin’s disease (OR = 0.53) [Br J Cancer 2000; 82(5): 1117-21].

MEASLES: Glaser et al also found that lymph cancer is significantly more likely in adults who were not infected with measles, mumps or rubella in childhood [In J Cancer 2005; 115(4): 599-605].

COMMON INFECTIONS: Gilham et al found that infants with the least exposure to common infections have the greatest risk of developing childhood leukemia [BMJ 2005; 330: 1294].

Conclusions. This is the first report of measles transmission from a twice vaccinated individual. The clinical presentation and laboratory data of the index were typical of measles in a naïve individual. Secondary cases had robust anamnestic antibody responses. No tertiary cases occurred despite numerous contacts. This outbreak underscores the need for thorough epidemiologic and laboratory investigation of suspected measles cases regardless of vaccination status.

Starting in 2012 Vermont had declared a statewide epidemic of whooping cough. To date there has been a total of 612 confirmed cases of pertussis, of which 90 percent have been vaccinated against the bacteria with the Tdap vaccine.

 

According to CSN.Philly.com, the New York State Department of Health reports that 18 of 20 people infected in a recent measles outbreak in New York City were children who had been vaccinated.

 

According to USA Today, since August 107 American children have polio symptoms, such as paralyzed limbs (Non-polio acute flaccid paralysis, NPAFP). According to National Geographic, all the children had been successfully immunized against polio. In 2011 there were an extra 47,500 new cases of NPAFP in India. Clinically indistinguishable from polio paralysis but twice as deadly, the incidence of NPAFP was directly proportional to doses of oral polio received.

 

In a study published in the Journal of Pediatrics, “Adverse Events following Haemophilus influenzae Type b Vaccines in the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, 1990-2013” CDC and FDA researchers identified 749 deaths linked to the administration of the Hib vaccine, 51 percent of which were sudden infant death (SIDS)

 

Blaming the unvaccinated

Instead of blaming the unvaccinated, if there is such a concern about infectious disease outbreaks, why aren’t health officials requiring a two-week quarantine of all children and adults who receive vaccination and shedding the vaccine virus. Two weeks is the minimum amount of time required to prevent transmission of infectious diseases.

Some vaccines are made from live viruses. Currently, these include oral polio, smallpox, MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella), and nasal flu vaccines.

These vaccines may pose a threat to your child’s health. Any person with a weakened immune system, including patients with cancer or HIV infection should not receive live virus vaccines.

Do not allow people to visit your child if:

  • They have received oral polio or smallpox vaccines within 4 weeks;
  • They have received the nasal flu vaccine within one (1) week; or
  • They have rashes after receiving the chickenpox (varicella) vaccine or MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine.
