This rise in autism is not due to better diagnoses like we are told, either. If that were the case, we would see scores of 50 and 60 year old people with autism in our population. How many people over 50 years old do you know with autism? Certainly not 1 in 50, or even 1 in 5,000, for that matter. The truth is, the spike in autism is a recent phenomenon and has become a real threat to our society. If left unaddressed, we can expect millions of people in our country to not only become non-productive members of our community, but to be unable to care for their own basic needs.
