Abigael Portillo is embarking on a journey no mother or parent should ever endure. She’s at the beginning stages of investigating and learning why her healthy four-month old baby girl died within a week of receiving seven vaccines. Vida’s death certificate shows the manner of death is “Natural” and the autopsy findings show “adenovirus with coinciding rhinovirus infection.” (Rhinovirus is also known as the common cold.) However, according to Abigael, Vida “wasn’t even sick. No fever no running nose, no cough, – a normal healthy baby.” Abigael: I took my precious Vida to her 4 month well check and she received Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib), Polio (IPV), Pneumococcal (PCV13), Rotavirus (RV), Diphtheria, tetanus, and acellular pertussis (DTaP). That is 7 shots. Never did I question what they are for. Are they all necessary at such a young age (only 17 lbs) or even all at once? What are the side effects? What should I look for if she has a reaction? Instead, I just held my baby down while all kinds of chemicals, aluminum, mercury, monkey cells (yes, monkey cells) the list goes on…as they were injected into my baby girl’s body.

Conversation with Autopsy pathologist:
Update from Catie 3/22/19:
Me: “I know this is going to sound morbid, but it sounds like with everything you’re saying to me, my daughter basically “took one for the team”, right?”
Pathologist: “I don’t even know what to say to that.”
I just finished up a very heated, baffling phone conversation with the very “cold” doctor who performed my daughter’s autopsy. The autopsy is pretty much complete on their end, there have been no answers, it’s at a finalizing paperwork phase. My mother was in the room when this call took place, she heard this all! I’m not exaggerating a thing. After several calls this week to try and get this doctor on the phone, I sent an email today requesting the simple additional tests that I wanted done in my daughter’s autopsy. I was assured the day of my daughter’s death by that office that “every test” would be performed, that her receiving vaccinations a day and a half prior was of concern, and they’d be running “those kinds of tests”, that they took infant deaths very seriously. I believed them. These simple tests I requested would reveal if vaccinations had played any part in my daughter’s death. Well less than an hour after sending that email, I finally got that doctor to call me back! She refused to do the tests, each and every one.
Me: “My daughter was in perfect health and then received 6 vaccinations and died a day and a half later. Why wouldn’t you run ANY tests to check if vaccinations were the cause?”
Pathologist: “It’s not medically necessary, there is no medical reasoning, and it’s not medically approved.”

House Intelligence Committee chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., has also sent letters to Google and Facebook, in which he accuses the companies of enabling distribution of misinformation about vaccines that “discourages parents from vaccinating their children.” According to Schiff’s website:11
“Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), sent a letter to Sundar Pichai and Mark Zuckerberg, the Chief Executive Officers of Google and Facebook, respectively, to express concern that the company’s platforms including YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, are surfacing and recommending information that discourages parents from vaccinating their children, contributing to declining vaccination rates which could reverse progress made in tackling vaccine-preventable diseases.
“During the measles outbreak in California in 2015, a large number of suspected cases occurred in recent vaccines. Of the 194 measles virus sequences obtained in the United States in 2015, 73 were identified as vaccine sequences.”
Despite evidence showing there are gaps in vaccine science and that the safety of the early childhood vaccine schedule has not been clearly established,4,5,6,7 and despite evidence showing measles disease outbreaks also may involve vaccine reactions, there’s an ongoing effort to simply shut down all public discussion about vaccines and their side effects.
For example, California state Sen. Dr. Richard Pan, D-Sacramento, is now urging U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams to push mandatory vaccinations to the top of the public health agenda. In a letter to Adams, Pan wrote:8,9
“Our nation requires your leadership to stop this attack on our nation’s health by addressing the spread of vaccine misinformation causing unwarranted vaccine hesitancy and recommending policies that restore community immunity which protects our children and the most vulnerable among us …
As we just celebrated Presidents’ Day, I would recall George Washington mandated smallpox inoculation of his army during the Revolutionary War to ensure our country’s freedom. I call on you to protect our right as Americans to be free of preventable diseases in our own community.”
